Detail

The Central Route of Afghanistan is a historic journey through the country’s cultural and geographic heart — once traveled by Silk Road traders, Buddhist pilgrims, and empires like the Ghurids, Timurids, and Alexander the Great himself. This route connects iconic sites like the Bamiyan Buddhas, the sapphire lakes of Band-e-Amir, the towering Minaret of Jam, the Persian-influenced city of Herat, and the sacred Blue Mosque in Mazar-e-Sharif. From Kabul to Kandahar and beyond, it’s a path that weaves together ancient civilizations, natural wonders, and the deep resilience of Afghan heritage.
